We were there for 9 days in February. The house was delightfully located overlooking the ocean. It was clean and comfortable, reasonably well equipped. We didn’t use the beach equipment but that is a nice feature. The front steps had no handrails which was probably not ADA compliant. The fireplace was nice although the instructions in the “welcome” book were inadequate. We also had difficulty getting to he BBQ grill to work. We loved watching out the windows and even saw a pod of whales one afternoon. All in all, it was a lovely stay.

Our stay at this vacation home was outstanding! The home is situated on a beautiful ocean overlook and despite rain, we had a restful, restorative stay. One morning saw dolphins! Everything was effortless... great instruction manual, easy entry. Gorgeous outdoor space with table, grill, loungers and shower. We took the many stairs down to the beach once, and also had a clear night of glorious stars and moonlight over the ocean. The house is awesome... living/kitchen space centered around the view. Motorize shades, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of room for suitcases and clothes, and comfortable bed. Some mention the train... we heard it only a few times and certainly not a negative. We slept well! Really appreciated the parking as well. Some walkable shops, coffee, restaurants and the place itself is on a quiet side street with low traffic. Had a small issue with fireplace and delayed response from management, but it was after hours and no emergency. Otherwise, great info provided

I loved everything about this beach house, right down to how clean the windows and glass railings were kept. The ocean view was phenomenal and able to be seen from the entirety of the living room and kitchen. We started our mornings watching dolphins over coffee, and ended our days watching sunsets over cocktails. Having private stairs to access the beach was the icing on the cake. The house is situated wonderfully: high up above the ocean so private and quiet, on a quiet one-way street and just a quick walk downhill to a wonderful coffee house and a great Italian restaurant. The beach towns of Leukadia and Encinitas offer a great vibe with plenty of shops and restaurants. The house was lovingly renovated, with high ceilings and lovely bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable, with handy reading lights, and if I cracked the window I could hear the ocean waves. The outside is as cute as the inside, with little garden areas and a front gate — oh and the front door is a split Dutch door (super cute and offers cross-breeze). We will definitely return to this charming cottage perched on the ocean. Hopefully for an even longer visit! Thank you for creating and sharing this truly special abode.

The home was exactly as pictured and the views are spectacular. We spent hours each day on the lower deck just staring at the waves, watching hawks fish and surfers surf. The beds were comfortable and the showers had instant hot water. If I had one caution for future renters, that would be that the kitchen was not well stocked compared to other rentals we have had this past year. It was adequate, but there are only a hand full of seasonings (basically salt and pepper and some bbq seasoning) no oil, no condiments, baggies or aluminum foil. If you want to prepare a meal you will pretty much have to buy everything. The location is incredibly convenient, and walkable. The hosts are very responsive and cordial and we appreciated their prompt attention to a few small asks we had. My husband told me he considers this home to be one of the best rentals we’ve stayed at, even with the limited kitchen supplies. I’d have to agree!
