The house was clean and in a good location. Nice to be able to drive down the hill to all that Lake Tahoe has to offer and wonderful to walk right out the back to a beautiful hike. Amenities in the house were lacking and the owner's items were in plain sight. Random assortment of kitchen and pantry items. Bedrooms downstairs were small and shared one VERY small bathroom.

We liked: 1) Dog-friendly. We traveled with two small dogs. Be aware: there were at least four free-range dogs in the neighborhood. All friendly, non-threatening, but if you have reactive dogs, you know the reaction. 2) This was the best equipped kitchen we've experienced in a rental. Everything worked, not a bunch of cast-offs. We prepared most of our meals, so this was appreciated. (Minor exception: time to replace the damaged coffee bean grinder). 3) house backs up to undeveloped public lands, including a trail network - access the TRT and more from the neighborhood. 4) The house was clean. We accept that rentals that welcome dogs are likely to exhibit some wear and tear; aside from that, all was very clean when we arrived. 5) HOA membership to beach! (part of the reason we chose this place).Didn't like: 1) During our 8-night stay in mid-July we were lucky the high temp never exceeded about 81. If so, this house could get very hot. The manager provided a common-sense list of how to keep a house with no AC cool in the summer, but this house does not have window coverings in the main living area, a crucial component of those strategies. While trees provide partial shade (emphasis on partial), the sun warms the main living area and there are no ceiling fans throughout the house. The downstairs bedrooms have one window each, so natural cooling is limited; they are better shaded though. Every room has a portable fan. Highly recommend this house - except in the heat.

We enjoyed our stay here. The house is very well located near an extensive trail system and a short drive to the incredible LTPA beach. It was also very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Tahoe Getaways was very responsive. We had a few minor requests after we arrived and TG sent someone over within a few hours to resolve them. Would definitely stay again.
