The great room is perfect for cooking, setting up to work-from-home, work on a puzzle, read a book and watch a movie or the World Cup! The fenced in back yard is lovely for meals outside, letting the dog run around and for enjoying a cup of coffee and a book in the morning. The rooms were just as described and provided a variety of sleep spaces for our family gathering. We love the short drive to Lake Forest Beach for hanging out by the lake and paddle boarding. The location is ideal for heading into Tahoe City and a short drive to Truckee. We took advantage of it all!

The house was clean and comfortable with a lovely huge fenced backyard. The kitchen was well supplied and linens were good quality. However, there was one downside. There is a metal spiral staircase to the right of the front door that overhangs the fairly narrow walkway from front door to kitchen. The exposed metal stair treads have sharp edges that are directly at head height for adults and children. The walkway is immediately between this spiral staircase on the right and the steps into the sunken living room on the left, so it is not possible to walk farther away from the metal steps. One has to be super careful to edge past the staircase without hitting one’s head. Further, this spiral staircase blocks the door to the downstairs bedroom. It is a major hazard. We had to tie strips of cloth to the edges of the stairs treads to alert family members of the hazard and avoid a major head injury. This can’t possibly comply with building codes and is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

This location was exactly as described and only a short drive to lake and restaurants would definitely stay at this location again

We had a lovely stay overall. The place was clean, comfortable, and well maintained - I’d rate the cleanliness a solid 4/5. The host was responsive and helpful, and the space matched the listing well.
One thing to note for families is that the home isn’t particularly toddler-friendly (a few safety considerations to keep in mind), so it may be better suited for adults or older children.
That said, we enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it to travelers looking for a clean, pleasant place to stay. Thank you for hosting us!

The house was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately there were so many spiderwebs, dust, and unclean areas that it made the trip uncomfortable.

The house was ready when we arrived. Very clean, all appliances worked, and it was easy to enter. The property was as described. Highly recommend this property and Tahoe Getaways. We'll rent again from them.
