Bulls Head Lodge made the perfect setting for our family reunion this Christmas. There was plenty of living, sleeping, eating, and cooking space for an inter generational group of 13. Snowy walks by the peaceful river, snowshoeing on the expansive grounds, skiing in nearby Squaw Valley, and trips to shops, restaurants, and activities in picturesque Truckee made for a wonderful holiday. We spent many memorable evenings in the hot tub under the stars and the shadow of Bulls Head Mountain or roasting marshmallows by the outdoor fireplace. The lower floor was a complete apartment for one family of 5 with young children. The Third floor living room and bedrooms was so spacious and comfortable for another two families. And the Main floor with it's fabulous kitchen and rustic dining and living rooms had generous space for all. All in all it was a very Merry Christmas vacation experience!

Beautiful place with a perfect location! It's only a couple miles away from Squaw, so very convenient for skiing, and about halfway between Truckee and Tahoe City for dinners (maybe 5 - 7 mi either way). It feels like a rustic western lodge even though it's basically a new home. Very spacious...we were fine with 10+ people (and extra bunks downstairs). Super views from the great room, which has a wall of windows facing the bluff (called Bull's Head). Also has huge fireplace with big 'bull' kudu above it. Hot tub has surround music system (which was a cool) and very private. We snowshoed along the river banks...all on the private estate (national forest on the other side). Master suite was the best, but all the rooms had private balconies/decks. Big TVs and foosball too! Have fun!

This magnificent cabin is more than just a place to sleep before your next day in the Tahoe mountains; it is a place to unwind and relax while bringing the wilderness inside in front of the fireplace in the grand living room with large windows providing a secluded view of the mountain and river. The house is built with enormous wooden tree logs providing a feeling that you are still outside between trees and rocks while still being inside in a cozy, warm setting with a large fireplace. The bedrooms are all large with lots of closet space and comfortable beds. Beds are made using large wooden tree logs providing a feeling of sleeping in the wilderness while still being in a cozy, warm and comfortable bed. The dual and quiet dishwashers make it easy to keep the kitchen clean. The cabin has several large flat screen TVs and easy internet access. There are large common rooms with TV on all 3 levels making it easy for others to retreat and watch their favorite TV show. I can highly recommend this cabin (or castle which I think is a better description) to anyone going to the Tahoe Mountain.
