We met 10 other family members at Bull's Head for Thanksgiving about a year ago, then went back again this winter. It held our big group quite comfortably with plenty of discrete areas for people to have their own space, and good open common areas for being together. The design and finishes in this place are top notch. Makes you feel like you're in a cabin, but with the space and quality of a classic gourmet lodge. Cool stone and tile work, tons of custom woodwork, and a schwanky kitchen. The location is also quite good, you can see the river and mountains from most rooms. Squaw is minutes, and Truckee and Tahoe City are only about ten minutes each. The skiing at Thanksgiving was surprisingly good, and without the big crowds.

Bulls Head is a luxurious, spacious, family friendly lodge in the heart of North Lake Tahoe. You cannot beat the river location with easy access to popular summer and winter attractions including hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, skiing, great restaurants and more. The process of renting Bulls Head through the owner is seamless. No hassles, very organized and a very reasonable cost for such a large lake property. The process, house amenities, friendly owner and house location have made my trips to Lake Tahoe from the bay area extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend renting Bulls Head for your next winter or summer outdoor adventure!

I stayed at Bullshead for a ski vacation and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful - well designed, everything is new, hot tub, views and spacious. Could not have asked for more. It's also highly convenient to the best world class skiing in Tahoe - 10 minutes to Squaw Valley. I can't to come back in the summer!

We were eagerly anticipating our pre-Christmas vacation, our first trip ever to the Lake Tahoe area, and the Bullshead Lodge far exceeded our expectations! The setting was gorgeous and very peaceful, with first class amenities, and a very central location to ski resorts, the Lake and Truckee. It was very nice for the adults and our three young daughters were thrilled with their very cozy bunk room, hot tub, and walking trails around the property. The property owners have thought of every detail from an open floor plan, many peaceful private spaces, heated floors in the bathrooms, expansive panoramic views throughout the house of the Bullshead cliff across the river, which is just steps from the deck and patio. The skiing and outdoor activities are first class. Also, we found plenty of fun activities to do with our children including: The Village at Squaw, Riding the Tram, great shopping in Truckee for the kids and adults, and it is a must to visit the KidZone Play Museum just minutes up the road in Truckee! Oh yeah, be sure to visit the "Dam Cafe" about 5 minutes away in Tahoe City at the mouth of the Truckee River and Lake Tahoe - the vegetarian chile was fantastic and the bridge over the dam is very historic and scenic. My wife loved it so much, she has already organized a group of her girlfriends to go back to Bullshead in the spring of 2012 and they have already booked their trip!

I've stayed at Bullshead several times and know the owner personally. I've spent years in Tahoe at various properties and this one is hands down the nicest. Huge open space, classic mountain lodge feel (high end), heater floors, hot tub, amazing kitchen and living areas, few miles from Squaw, and it's right on the river. Only downside is that i rent it, and not own it. Damn.

Bulls Head Lodge made the perfect setting for our family reunion this Christmas. There was plenty of living, sleeping, eating, and cooking space for an inter generational group of 13. Snowy walks by the peaceful river, snowshoeing on the expansive grounds, skiing in nearby Squaw Valley, and trips to shops, restaurants, and activities in picturesque Truckee made for a wonderful holiday. We spent many memorable evenings in the hot tub under the stars and the shadow of Bulls Head Mountain or roasting marshmallows by the outdoor fireplace. The lower floor was a complete apartment for one family of 5 with young children. The Third floor living room and bedrooms was so spacious and comfortable for another two families. And the Main floor with it's fabulous kitchen and rustic dining and living rooms had generous space for all. All in all it was a very Merry Christmas vacation experience!
