Our family of 5 adults (2 from CT and 3 from CA) stayed for 4 weeks at Bluebird Lodge on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe during September. While not technically a vacation - as everyone worked remotely - we were able to relax and enjoy rare time together. This home was newly furnished with state of the art TVs, sound system, alarms, kitchen appliances, etc. The furniture was exactly as is in the photos - very clean and new feeling. Bluebird Lodge was the perfect retreat for our family as it had plenty of living space from which to work...two family rooms each with large comfy sectional sofas with smart TVs. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessities for cooking and drinking. The 4 full bathrooms were gorgeous - new tiles and fixtures with timed lights to conserve energy. Beds had new linens and comfortable mattresses and pillows, with extra blankets in all the closets, plus fans for warmer nights- there is no AC, which initially made me nervous as Sept. can get hot but the evenings in Tahoe are quite cool and the house had nice breezes due to location up in the hills. While one wall was mostly glass, the owners installed electronic shades controlled by a remote which allowed us to pick and choose which windows to cover as the sun rose in the morning, while still being able to have a view from more shady windows. We thoroughly enjoyed the bonus pool room with optional ping pong table top and mini bar! The home has two decks, one on each level. The top level has a grill, table with seating for 6 and two lounge chairs, with obscured lake views. The bottom level deck is covered without furniture. If I were to offer any suggestions to the home owners to make this home even better, it would be to add some chairs to the lower deck and upgrade the upper deck furniture as it was old - the table was very wobbly and one of the lounge chairs' one support was broken so only laid flat. The hot tub was wonderful - large enough for 6 adults and LED lighting gave a fun ambience at night time. It also would have been nice to have a TV in the master bedroom, but not necessary.
I highly recommend Tahoe Getaways. The agents were very responsive in helping me find the right place and were completely on top of all of my requests prior to check-in (we asked for a one month increase in internet data plan knowing how much we would be using for work/zoom calls etc.) They provided phone assistance 7 days a week should any issues arise - the very first day we could not figure out the trick to unlocking the hot tub and Tahoe Getaways answered the phone right away and helped us out. They also sent weekly maintenance for the hot tub, insuring it was clean. I have always used airbnb or VRBO for home rentals, but after such a great experience with Tahoe Getaways, I learned that customer service from a local agent is invaluable to help make the vacation free from hassle.
