As a multigenerational family we were very comfortable in this house. It is large and spacious which made it easy to enjoy social common room space and all have our own private rooms and bathrooms. For families, note there is a lot of gear tucked into the upstairs closets, baby gate, two pack n' plays, a portable highchair, space heaters and toys. The kitchen is very well stocked, the bathrooms were immaculate, the beds were very comfortable and the house was nicely decorated. Lots of extra towels and blankets. The hot tub was lovely on the back deck and the location was very tranquil and quiet. A flat driveway and neighborhood made it easy to walk around with a stroller. A 12 minute drive into downtown Truckee and about 30 to Sugar Bowl. The garage had some sleds and a snowball maker that my son was very excited to find.
Would highly recommend this house to large families or friend groups. Very comfortable.

We rented this house for a group of friends who get together once a year. We have rented several properties over the years from a variety of companies. Mountain Jewel was definitely our favorite. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The hot tub is in great shape. Communication with Tahoe Getaways was good. The house was very clean. The only thing that would be better is if they were more flexible on letting renters have more people over during the day. We typically have a few other friends over for dinner one night who don't stay with us because they have their own houses in the area. But they are more strict than the local ordinance (which restricts number of overnight guests, not daytime guests). I understand that they are trying to prevent people from having big parties but it is overly restrictive.

We really enjoyed the place!

We are in the 14th year with our crafting retreat, with many stays taking place in Tahoe Donner. The layout of this home is perfect for large gatherings, potluck dinners, communal evenings of conversations and laughter. The amenities are plentiful and make the stay at Mountain Jewel feel like home. 4 bathrooms makes mornings easier. The kitchen is one of the best stocked we have experienced and the fixtures are high-end and well cared for. By far our favorite home of the last 14 years! We will be back.

Beautiful place! Had everything we needed for cooking and exceptionally well set up for kids / families - little thoughtful touches from toys to bathroom stools. We had a wonderful time!
