We were so pleased with our accommodations in Maui. Our unit was clean and well kept and the location was just right for us. We liked the walk to the harbor each day. We did rent a car and you'll need some type of transportation for sightseeing and excursions. Wonderful place and we will return.

This was an easy process and we were pleasantly surprised about the proximity to the ocean and the quietness of the neighborhood. We would book this again. Be prepared to rent a car or walk .5 mile to activities.

We really loved our stay in Hana Kai. We wanted to avoid staying in the 10- story big chain resorts, and to have something more intimate and less crowded, Our ground level apartment of the 2-story building was 10 meters from the small sandy beach, with a beautiful lanai , where we could enjoy morning coffee with a view. The apparement was stocked with everything one might want for cooking and eating at home. There was a nice welcoming gift - a small coffee pack - waiting for us. There were also beach chairs and coolers, which came very handy. Very comfortable bed, nice linens, many thoughtful, little touches that made our stay especially pleasant. The central locations is very convenient if you want to explore the island, being in the middle between west and south Maui. The only downside of this location that the water clarity is not as good as on some other Maui beaches; so if you want to snorkel just in one place, this is not the best option. However, there is a small reef off the beach and we could some interesting fish some right there.
