We had a lovely week long stay at this condo! It was clean, had beautiful views, a great air conditioning system, and every detail was taken care of perfectly. The pillows were fluffy and plentiful, the towels were numerous, and everything looked exactly like the photos. Luana Kai is mostly two floor units with lofts as the second bedroom, but this condo has been remodeled to make the second bedroom a true second bedroom. The two-story layout allows you to really get personal space. That makes this unit extra special! We would definitely stay here again. A pleasant surprise was how warm and friendly the other guests were at the pool. You feel like you are really staying in a community when you are at Luana Kai. Even the long term residents are happy to have you there and chat it up poolside. Our kids played with other kids on the grass in the evenings, and the BBQ area is just pristine. We BBQd by the poolside for every meal that we were eating in the condo. There is even a microwave and fridge poolside! We loved this location in North Kihei. Close to Ululani’s Shave Ice and Kahului, but also not too far from our favorite beaches in Makena. This is a great in between location. However, while the beach in front of the condo looks beautiful from a distance, it does not have that nice soft Maui sand like the Wailea and South Kihei beaches. This is more of a beach to paddleboard on in the early morning or watch the sunset at night. You will need to drive 10-20 minutes to access beaches to lounge on or snorkel on during the day. We knew that about the location beforehand, so there were no surprises there, but it is just an important part to be aware of.
