We will reach out to complex management to report your issues with their pool's cleanliness. The complex has maintenance teams who regularly clean the pool daily, however during your stay it was a high surf/high wind time, which means debris can blow in often. There are skimmers around the pool for guests to remove debris when needed between their regular maintenance daily cleaning. The high surf also impacted the beach across the street, and most beaches on the island, making them precarious to navigate for everyone, not just children. The beach across the street is called Magic Sands Beach and one of the reasons is when the surf is exceptionally high, like it was for your stay, the sand gets swept out and more lava inclusions are visible. Thankfully, the high surf only stayed for the week and the beach sands have since been restored by the waves and it is beautifully calm and welcoming to all visitors of all ages, again. Sorry to hear that you experience the beach across the street during a high well time, where it takes away the sand. When the sand is filled in, the beach is amazing!
