Everything about the Orchid Inn was delightful. The house is gorgeous, the yard is a lush, floral blend of natural and landscaped, and the location, while a bit out-of-the-way for some, was perfect for us. Yes the roosters get one up pretty early, but you wake up in a beautiful spot on a high hill in paradise: even I (a dedicated late sleeper) didn’t mind! The concierge services are helpful and attentive, and the whole tone around maintenance of the property (and guests’ part in it) is impeccable. We can’t wait to get back there!

Great secluded property, clean and roomy.

We stayed at The Orchid Inn in Kona and it was beautiful! Amazing views and you can see the sun setting. Big kitchen and nice open space for the living room, dining area and kitchen. Whomever decorated did a really nice job on the place. The gardens surrounding the property are stunning with lots of flowers blooming. There were lychee fruit growing up high in the trees and it must have been the groundskeepers who cut down a branch full of lychee and left it on the front porch for us - they were yummy! There is a long private driveway so there is some space between the homes there. Privacy and lots of birds singing. They do have a few roosters that wake up early so you may need some earplugs for that (they have lots of disposable available at the house), but if you have been to Hawaii you know that the roosters are a familiar voice. The beds were also very comfortable! Very handy to have a washer and dryer. It is about a 10 minute drive down the hill to get to the center of Kona Kailua, but the drive is easy and actually quite lovely with all the beautiful trees and plants growing there. Really enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time, the orchid inn Is a magical unique home, Both comfortable and beautiful. Besides for the beautiful location, we also appreciated the home’s great decorating. There were all kinds of extra touches such as very well stocked kitchen.

David was very responsive and helpful in arranging kayaking, whale watching, the luau and the submarine, in addition to providing helpful information about the local scene we would otherwise not have had accessible to us. You do, however, need to pay attention to some of the electrical issues I mentioned in the earlier note. I would recommend this property for a family like ours, recognizing that not everyone wants a peaceful setting filled with nature.

Very high on the hill. No need AC because wind is comfortable. The bedroom need more block from the frog noise.
