We stayed at Casa De Emdeko 136. I want to preface this review by saying that I'm in the vacation rental business back on the mainland. The Kona Coast vacation rental team were fantastic. From the time I booked the property, and throughout our stay, every person I spoke to was knowledgeable and energetic. David, the concierge, was an added bonus and super helpful. I would highly recommend picking his brain during your stay. As far as the condo is concerned, it was everything we needed and a little more. Bonus items: Beach towels, cooler, life jacket and boogie boards. The location was central to about anything you would like to experience. It more then served its purpose for what we were here to do. My family and I came to Hawaii to see the beauty of what the island had to offer. I read reviews about bugs, sheets not being cotton, the decor of the property and condition of the home. This is a tropical paradise and there will be bugs. I'm sure all the properties are on some type of pest control program but you cannot expect a house to be 100% bug free. I'm sure the cleaning companies spend thousands of dollars a year replacing sheets and towels that were misused during guests stay. What people need to realize is these vacation rentals are being used by the general public and quite frankly some people just do not respect them. I know from my own experience in this industry, owners and property management companies do their best to provide a great experience for their guests. They usually are under a tight time line to turn these homes. Give them a break and try to understand who is causing the issues that may arise when staying in a property. I can promise you the owners and management company do not go into the homes before a guest arrival and sabotage appliances, disconnect internet, dink walls, scratch pans etc... I rented this property with the understanding that things can and do go wrong. It happens at my own house. I don't expect compensation, I don't expect someone to be at my beckon call. I do expect a safe environment, within the home, and I received that. I didn't come to Hawaii to do a home inspection or critique a owners decorating style. I want to thank the owners for opening up their beautiful home to my family. I want to thank Kona Coast Vacations for being as helpful as they were. I don't need my hand held, but if I had any questions, they were there to assist. We have made some lifelong memories and I'm very grateful. I don't have time in my life to be so negative and critical. Come to Hawaii to enjoy all it has to offer not to see what you can get back during your stay.
