Kanaloa at Keauhou 1501 was the perfect place for an after Christmas vacation to BI. Our family of 4 ( two teens) had plenty of room to spread out after a day running around the island or at the beach. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking on vacation. The sunsets/sunrises from the lanai were wonderful.The gate people to get into the complex were beyond friendly. The pool by the ocean is a nice size to chill in the afternoon or to watch the sunset. The area is quiet and felt safe. My teen daughter would go for a run every morning after sunrise out of the complex and up and down the hill along with many other runners. You can walk to see the ocean ( not an area one would want to swim, buy you can watch the surfers). Great location to get ot the South or North part of the island. The Captain Cook trail access was just a quick drive down Ali drive and the beaches north of Kona like A-bay were about 45 minutes. My only ask would be for some beach items like a 2 low chairs, a cooler, umbrella and a boogie board. We only spent two days at "Hapuna Beach", but those items would have been nice to have since we came from Ohio. We did not use the air conditioning, the breezes were enough with the windows open and you could hear the waves crashing at night. In summary -it is clean, quiet, safe and it had great views!

I hesitated to stay at this property since there were no reviews, but I’m so happy I went ahead with this booking. The view was excellent from the deck, so we had our morning coffee and almost all meals out there. The condo seems to have been newly renovated (except the master bathroom). The photos of the property were accurate. The beds in both bedrooms are new and very comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. A couple of beach chairs would be a nice addition, but you will find all of the necessities here. The complex has 3 pools, but we only made it to the ocean pool since it had an amazing view. We will definitely stay here again!
