We are so glad we found this house for annual December gathering. We had seven people this year (coming from Houston and Los Angeles) which included three generations of our family and friends. The home was the perfect base for our week. The location was great for our trips to the Volcanoes National Park to beaches like Black Sands to the South and Hapuna Beach to the north. We also found places for sun and turtle sightings (Punalu’u), snorkeling (Kahulu’u) and swimming (Magic Sands or Kua Bay). We topped evenings off with a wide variety of restaurants and enjoyed eating takeout at home and even made burgers on the grill after a long day at the Volcanoes NP. The house was a perfect fit as we never felt on top of each other and all had our own space when needed. The surprise of the trip was the eruption of Mauna Loa, some nights we could see the lava glow from the street and balcony. We hope to add this home to our yearly Hawaii vacation rotation.
