The condo was excellent-clean, cool, extremely well equipped and close enough to the village for easy access to the beach and amenities, yet quiet and very pleasant at night. We are a family of four, with two adult children, and there was plenty of space for everyone to be happy. Great location, and great condo.

The owner went way above and beyond to impress - and did! We locked ourselves outside the first night (our fault) and the response was quick. Even the manager and tenants in the building were helpful. Did I say it was spotless? Lots of good restaurants - Lava Java really good and right below. Nice boutique shops nearby. Must drive north and eat at Lava Lava Beach Club at the resort. Paddle boarding and ocean kayaking at beach at the base of the pier. Favorite beach is Hapuna Beach. Just be sure to go through the wonderful book they put together for you. Great FYI. You won't be disappointed.

Reviewer Comments: A spectacular view of the coast (right at your feet) and every creature comfort, central and very convenient location in the heart of Kailua-Kona. You can hardly ask for more. It would be nearly worth the price (which is really quite reasonable) just for the view from the main lanai--it is a jaw-dropping one. Oneo Bay is right below you, across the two-lane Alii Drive. Saw dolphins out in the bay one morning, while swimmers (no doubt training for the Ironman in October) stroked their way across the bay. Thoroughly enjoyed a morning cup of Kona coffee sitting on the lanai, watching the birds in the nearby palms, bay life, and the boats. But there's much more for those who want it inside--the unit has been remodeled in luxe fashion. Large-screen TV, sensuround sound (operated by a couple of iPods), an iMac, a fully stocked kitchen (with the fanciest toaster we've ever encountered), laundry, on and on--even a high-powered pair of binoculars on a tripod. We (me, wife, and 7 yr old daughter) had more than enough space--two couples would be easily accommodated. Two bedrooms each with its own full bath and lights that turn on without a touch (motion sensor)--that could be a positive or negative, depending on how often you get up in the night. The upper master bedroom also has its own lanai off the back. The condo is at the top floor of the building (which is remarkably underwhelming from the outside). The only really con to the place was having to wash the bedding the first night because the sheets had a somewhat funky odor. Not much in the way of beach supplies, though beach towels were available. Also, the keypad entry at the building entrance was a bit hit or miss--we couldn't get it to work when we arrived but fortunately another tenant showed up and was able to help us in. But very minor quibbles. We thoroughly enjoyed the unit and the location.

It was exceptional clean, equipped with everything we would need from storage containers to pack our lunch to beach mats and more. I have never felt so comfortable and relaxed. The sound of the ocean was amazing, we sat each morning out on the lanai with our breakfast and every evening for sunset. The decorations within the condo was beautiful and well put together. It had the sea shore atmosphere. I never like going to a place twice in a row but I can not wait to go back and stay in this condo again. The interior was beautifully furnished. This condo was renovated with many luxurious features. The kitchen was stocked with stylish appliances and lacked nothing. The linens were lovely. One of the most outstanding features was the front lanai. Being on the 7th floor (the penthouse) allowed you to only see the surf crashing onto the lava rocks; the beautiful bay and the best sunsets I've ever seen! The master bedroom is up on the renovated loft with a modern full bathroom and another lanai which we used a lot for sunning. This view overlooks the mountainside of the community of Kailua-Kona. The pool can be seen from here. There are state-of-the-art electronic features throughout. We really enjoyed the Sonos sound system! The central location was right in the midst of this town, close to restaurants, cafés, shops and entertainment. We were also happy to discover a Naturopathic and Massage Therapy Clinic down in the lobby area. We loved the Island Java Hut which is immediately next door for all meals of the day. The Outback Steakhouse is very close. We also enjoyed dining at the Kona Inn, the Fishhopper , Splashers and Sam Choys Kai Lanai. We enjoyed a dinner cruise with Blue Sea Cruises and went to a great luau at the Sheraton. We rented a car and toured a lot of the island. We went to see the volcano in the Hawaii National Park; Hapuna Beach and saw many interesting historic attractions to and from Hilo. This was a very difficult place to leave but we have already reserved our holiday here, for next year!
