CONS: (You did ask.) We did add to the contents of the house, a large frying pan, a table cloth, I put felt on the bottom of 5 of the kitchen chairs, as they really screeched when moved. The dryer was a real pain, finally found just the right way to touch the button to get it to work. Dishwasher is broken on the top rack. Stove needs instructions! Had to go online to figure it out. Wifi occasionally needs to be reset. PROS: But enough of that. What a lovely house!!! All beautifully clean on our arrival. The west-facing location right on the water is unbeatable! The sound of the waves, the glorious sunsets viewed from the balconies and lanai, WOW, what an unforgettable experience each day! Every bedroom has a balcony, plenty of washrooms, and the walk-in showers are great. The kitchen was well stocked with most every implement we needed, spacious fridge, lots of seating. Plenty of towels and paper towels and toilet paper to get us started. Parking was pretty good. We had quite a few guests join us, all having different temperature needs, and the air con worked great for them. Kahalu'u Beach is a 10-minute walk. David the concierge was SO helpful, where can I give him a review? I would recommend Hale Honu to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Kona. It was a privilege to stay at Hale Honu, thank you so much for making it available to us.

Reviewer Comments: overall was a great stay at the property. spacious, clean, and well-stocked with amenities especially towels. also the views are amazing. as the back part of the property faces west, sunsets were visible every single night and also we were able to see the moonset as well in the early hrs of the morning before the sun came up.at check-in, the property was a bit hot since it was in the dead of summer and we did have to use the a/c and it was a painless process since the property manager was easily reachable and professional.the property manager was easy to deal with and communicated well and quickly.staying here i would definitely recommend having a vehicle as there really isn't anything closely walkable from here. the coconut grove marketplace is a few miles away. the property is gated that would fit one vehicle inside.there are a few minor things that could use a bit more upkeep (windows, screens, etc) but nothing that really impacted our stay.would recommend staying at this property

This home was everything we were hoping for and MORE! The deck off the main floor was a favorite hangout for reading or sipping coffee or a glass of wine and listening to the waves crashing. We could see school of fish in the water close to us and groups of dolphins and many boats going by further out. The ocean breezes helped keep the house comfortable despite the warmth and humidity , and we loved sleeping to the sounds of the crashing waves. The home is very well stocked in the kitchen and the clean and pleasant garage has ample beach supplies, including a pop up sun dome to protect the babies (or pale Oregonian adults) at the beach. Our family group of 6 adults and two infants were very comfortable in the 4 bedrooms and the bathrooms are very nice . If we return to KONA we will definitely ask for the same home!
