We’ve stayed in Casa de Emdeko #318 several times over the last few years as it’s our favorite regarding location, price, and layout among all the units in Casa. We always look forward to sitting on the lanai and enjoying the view and the sounds of the ocean and the birds. And we also much appreciate having the additional half-bath. While Kona Coast Vacations has been very diligent every time in helping us, sometimes going above and beyond to accommodate our needs, we’ve noticed over time that the unit has been increasingly neglected by the owner regarding furnishings and upkeep. In our last visit in early September 2025 we were especially troubled by 3 owner controlled items that Kona Coast could not help us with: #1 The light outside of the front door was not working which made it very hard at night to see the lock pad to open the door. Changing the bulb didn’t fix the problem. Kona Coast provided a little flashlight hung from the door handle which did help a lot, but required two free hands to open the door. #2 The WIFI only covered the front room, with no coverage in the bedroom or the bathrooms, including the bedroom tv. #3 The living room television, while being a flat panel tv, is very old and is not capable of using any streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, or Prime video. While we were viewing Netflix in the previous year’s visit it stopped working and informed us that Netflix no longer supported the hardware. We had hoped that in the year’s time between visits the issue would have been resolved with an updated tv, but we were disappointed to find it hadn’t been. While the owners are somewhat negligent in keeping the place updated, there are many pluses to staying in this condo, including it’s location on Ali’i Drive, the beauty of the otherwise well-maintained Casa De Emdeko complex, it’s ocean front location, the gated entrances, the convenience store located next-door, etc. For those wanting nothing more than a clean, relatively inexpensive, well located place without expecting any online entertainment, this place works just fine.

Overall, very good! We enjoyed our time there. Condo square footage was somewhat tight and the 55 year old building next to the ocean shows wear and salt corrosion. Please fix the garbage disposal. Best
