We saw dolphins playing, sea turtles, urchins, sea cucumbers, also amazing creatures we couldn't name. At first I was worried to see the unit didn't have air conditioning b/c it was HOT but with the windows and sliding door open a fantastic breeze cooled the house off nicely. Location is far enough from town that you don't have the noise and busyness but close enough to run over to and enjoy easily (4 miles??). Everything was clean and well appointed and we never saw any unwelcome crawling intruders. A really nice place for relaxing.

They followed up with me a couple of times during the week just to make sure everything was going well. This particular unit is well located in proximity to Kona, and the ocean view is stunning. The unit is well stocked with cooking utensils and upscale appliances, including a washer and dryer. It was very clean and the beds were nice too. It also includes covered parking for one vehicle. It was a little tricky turning out onto the street because there is a blind spot on the driver's side, but it was a minor issue. The owners must be wonderful people, based on how the condo was furnished. It felt like home. We liked it so much that we plan to reserve it again next year. Thank you for a wonderful week!

We booked our vacation from looking through VRBO and saw this amazing place that sounded to good to be true . We arrived and we were so impressed we really did not want to ever leave ... This unit is amazing .. You have a beautiful Kitchen that has all the best of everything. And when I mean everything ,,there is everything in this kitchen just like you were at home . The bedrooms were also amazing very comfortable beds in both rooms . We loved the fact that every day we could wake up and see all the Dolphins jumping in the water right out our lani .. There is the most amazing private beach which has a few people from close property's and a few locals which was perfect . We were able to swim with the turtles every day basically right out your lani . I would say that if your looking to stay in a place where your close to everything and want to stay somewhere that has a 5 star rating and above then this is the place for you . Thank you for having this wonderful place available for everyone to be able to share this incredible place !!! And we will definitely be staying here again .

Kona Coast Vacations and their associated Kona Concierge Services were great...both very helpful and knowledgeable, responsive and courteous. We used Kona Concierge extensively during our stay and everything went very smoothly with the volcano tours, luau, horseback riding, etc. Their services contributed to a fun, relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Hale Pohaku is the most exquisite condo in a central and great location in Kailua-Kona. We hated to leave it.

My family and I had the opportunity to finish our "Hawaii Tour" by staying for five night. Our tour included staying at five different locations --We certainly saved the "best for last". As there are only six units within the facility we had basically the entire property to ourselves to include the pool and tennis court. The way the unit is built allows complete privacy. We had a private gate out to the ocean where there was a protected beach and were able to see Sea Turtles everyday. The unit is beautifully decorated and fully stocked and organized. I have always used VRBO to rent my own condo however I have never used VRBO to rent a unit to stay in. My fear was the unit would be different from the pictures. If possible, the unit is more beautiful in person then in the pictures. I hope my family and I will return for another stay!
