Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our recent 9 night stay at Hale Pohaku #1 was outstanding in every way. The location, view, and decor were unbelievably beautiful. The Hawaiian architectural design and locally crafted furniture, especially the KOA cabinetry and the carved Honu headboards and living room glassed-topped table, created such a special ambience to the condo. The ocean view and pounding surf were amazing and ever changing. Unbelievable colors! The floor to ceiling louvers throughout the condo were perfect-we enjoyed leaving them open our entire stay. Location is ideal-close proximity to so many parts of the island. The amenities provided were beyond expectations-we especially loved the refrigerator and quiet dishwasher. Kona Coast Vacations checked in with us our first morning and provided all the information needed to contact them day or night, which we never had reason to. The associated concierge service was most helpful making luau reservations and providing listings of the best beaches, farmers' markets,restaurants, etc. Also, the directions from the airport were spot on. Easy driving all over the island. After returning each day from our adventures, (Volcano,coffee plantation, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau-City of Refuge, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, St. Benedict Painted Church, Waimea and much more) the lanai was always our first stop. Really breathtaking each and every second. We were also in the surf with turtles at White Sands Beach, just a few minutes south. Our only complaint - we had to leave. Hoping to return some day! We highly recommend this very special, very private condo in paradise.

Stocked with everything you could ever need or want (on second thought we did need to buy beer and wine). Perfect place for couples traveling together. Sunsets were unbelievable. Never even used to pool as we enjoyed simply sitting on our lanai. Kona Coast Vacations was awesome. Very attentive to our needs. We couldn't get the TV to work and within minutes we had a maintenance fellow arrive to REPLACE the TV. Unreal.

Great showers and hot water. Turtles every day in the Bay. We loved this place.

The steps were to far apart and hard for senior citizens. One or two should be added. I would recommend this unit to anyone that asks.
