Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We chose Vista Oceania #16 based on the great oceanfront location and the fact that it is within walking distance of Kailua-Kona town. We loved the main floor of the house with its large kitchen, comfortable family room and giant lanai. The views were spectacular and the patio furniture very comfy! It was so nice to have clear glass railings to soak up every inch of the oceanfront view. We enjoyed cooling off with dips in the private pool and the calm waters of the Keiki ponds were nearby. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us and we hope to return soon!!

A group of 8 of us met and enjoyed every moment in the house, which had ample room and was in an ideal location. We loved the view and particularly the lanai with lounge chairs, dining table and barbeque. I look forward to returning. My only critique would be the range in the kitchen, which was a bit tempermental and confusing.

I admit, this place passed the 'white glove' test on cleanliness. It has it all, with the view, pool, spa, and equipment for snorkeling, which we appreciated. We treated the home with the respect due a wonderful vacation property, and do hope to return. We did pay extra for A/C, which I felt was needed in the master bedroom at night. Our family said the A/C made it a little too chilly in the downstairs bedrooms, though. My only comment was there were no screens in many of the great room windows, and it was very warm at night. We needed to keep the windows open, and were concerned about mosquitos, having been bitten out on the lanai. We loved eating every meal out on the lanai, and barbequed some of our meals there on the gas barbeque! We also took advantage of the blenders in the kitchen to make Pina Coladas to go with some awesome sunset viewing. The rest of the home had window screens, so I'm not sure why the great room had many windows without screens, which we would have liked. This is a minor complaint; otherwise the place was perfect. I'm picky, and would and will definitely recommend it to friends!

Reviewer Comments: We just returned from staying in the beautiful home called Vista Oceania, with spectacular views of the crashing waves , right on the beach. The home itself is like a destination resort, with a large lanai where we ate every meal while listening to the waves. We had a group of five family members, and we couldn't have been happier, with the private pool/spa, BBQ, and well-stocked kitchen. We paid extra for air-conditioning , which I thought was necessary for the warm nights, and suited our personal preference. I would recommend this home, but would not recommend sleeping outdoors on the lanai's bed, where our grandson slept one night and received 25 Mosquito bites. We didn't really have any problem though , with them.

Private, yet close to everything. Rental agency and the Kona Concierge were very helpful. Had the home stocked with groceries before we arrived. Minor maintenance issue dealt with quickly when we called. Saw whales from the Lanai almost every day. Turtles in the little cove in front of the house were fun to snorkel with. Kitchen is great for meal preparation. Snorkel gear and boogie boards and beach chairs provided. Hot tub doesn't really get any warmer than about 95 degrees, I think the temp is locked out for energy saving purposes. So it really became just an extension of the pool while we were there. Overall, you can't go wrong with this house.

This home is beautiful and very well maintained. The location cannot be beat--right on the ocean in a little protected cove. Therefore we could snorkel every day with the turtles right in front of the house. You can walk to town, and there are also public tennis courts within walking distance. The house is stocked to the gills with everything you would need for a beach vacation--snorkel equipment, beach towels, boogie boards etc. The kitchen was perfect for preparing family meals and was stocked with nice dishes and utensils, not the cheapo stuff you find in many beach houses. Even though the house is SO NICE, we spent the majority of our time on the huge lanai. My only complaint, and I wouldn't even call it a complaint, is that some of the landscaping has matured to the point that you cannot see the ocean while you are in the pool. But then again it made for a nice privacy screen. So do you want a little privacy at pool level, or ocean view? Really, if you can come up with anything to complain about at this home...you don't deserve to stay there. The 2 lower level bedrooms share a bath with a Jack and Jill style bathroom, so that might be an issue for people with "bathroom issues", LOL. The upper level master bedroom and bath are mind boggling. You just have to see it to know what I am talking about. Really you can't go wrong in this house if you have a small group (for us it was 3 couples). Highly recommend this vacation home.
