Reviewer Comments: Kamilo House was so perfect for our family that we actually met with a real estate agent three times to see if he could help us find a place just like it! We have not yet located one that fits this bill but would buy this place in a heartbeat if we had the chance. It is within walking distance to downtown Kona but it feels like you are totally alone when there. The huge palm trees at the end of the lot made for the perfect view. Love this place. Only downside I can think of was the hot tub would not actually heat up above tepid for the first few cloudy days. The pool guy eventually managed to identify the actual problem and make it function after several phone calls to the property manager - who very annoyingly suggested we might not know what hot water feels like! Other than that, everything was perfect.

The machines are working fine, they provided laundry detergent as well a for the dishwasher. They have towels and chairs for your use at the beach. I recommend it! And definitely would rent it again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A lovely home away from home in which to spend Christmas with the family. We had a very nice 10 night stay at Kamilo house. The garden/landscaping is beautiful, lots of birds. The Lanai is welcoming with nice seating and outside dining table. A great place to watch the lovely sunsets. We spent most of our time there. The living room is very comfortable too. Bedrooms were very nice. The bedroom with the twin beds could use an additional light. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped. We cooked/BBQ'd most nights. Cooking utensils and garlic press could have been of better quality. The kitchen also needs a salad bowl/salad servers. I did like the coffee maker, coffee grinder and the nice sized mugs. The BBQ had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. So we ended up giving the grills a good scrub. The pool was refreshing. Hot tub was nice, but only really warmed up at around 8 pm. Sunset was at 6 pm. Pool/hot tub maintenance was overlooked during our stay, so the hot tub turned green with algae. Luckily, a pool man did appear on our last day to do maintenance on the pool heater and once he saw the condition of the hot tub, did end up draining, cleaning and refilling the hot tub for our last night but alas there was no sunset that night! The automated pool cleaner did not clean the shallower end of the pool very well. Lots of dead worms at the bottom. We only realized on our last night that we had to be directly in front of the hot tub in order to use the clicker to turn the spa lights on. The house is in a quiet community and we felt very comfortable leaving all the windows open all day and night. KTA and Safeway not far away. All in all a good stay. My one suggestion would be that the property manager call a few days into a stay to follow up with any small issues. Also, the bath towels being white need to be replaced more often due to high usage. Beach towels were new and plentiful. We would definitely want to stay at Kamilo house again.

The property is located in a quiet neighborhood but very convenient to shopping. The property was clean and had everything you needed (a cooler for the beach and beach chairs!).
