Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful property with outstanding ocean views. I stayed here for two weeks with my wife and kids in August 2016 and we were all impressed by the quality of this property. Everything in this penthouse is new. The kitchen is outstanding and has everything you need to feel like you are living on the island. No need to go out to dinner every night. The bathrooms are updated and the master bathroom has a spectacular view of Kahaluu Bay. Living room is very bright and has an open layout to the kitchen and dining room. The vaulted ceilings make the property feel very roomy and the many windows and sliding glass doors provide an ocean view from almost every room. And then there is the lanai. This lanai would knock your socks off (if you were wearing any) and is absolutely huge and it wraps around the entire penthouse. The furniture inside and out is immaculate and the king size beds are very comfortable. I was a little concerned that there was no A/C. I must say that this property does not need A/C. It is so open and airy and there are ceiling fans everywhere. My family was quite comfortable and we live in Alaska, so that should tell you something. It was nice to not have to worry about keeping the doors closed to keep the A/C in. It actually allows you to keep the doors and windows open, which in my opinion, provides for a much better island experience overall. We loved staying here and will recommend this property to our family and friends. Mahalo!!

The rental company was very responsive during the booking process. The unit was very nice. Overnight the space became very warm and there were some bugs- to be expected. Did not utilize and kona concierge services.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed 6 lovely days and nights just yards away from Kahalu'u beach where the snorkeling was superb and the sunsets awesome. Out of the fray of downtown Kailua, this exceptional vacation rental was just right. Easy access to the major routes to visit the rest of the island and to services, yet off the beaten path a bit. Ali'i drive is just below but traffic and/or noise was never and issue. The unit is meticulously maintained with plenty of space and the oweners provide everything you need - beach towels and chairs, an outdoor cold water shower for hosing off the sand, ping pong, darts and foosball for the kids (and adults!). And the lanai - well just look at the pictures online. We spent most of our time there. If we get back to the big island we will surely stay here again.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very happy with our experience with this property at Kapalu'u state beach. Snorkeling, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding are all possible right there, and have rental shops at or near the beach. As of June 2016, the property had only been for rent for a few weeks and we were one of the first families to stay there. All the appliances are new, as are the beds and the outdoor grill. Because (I think) they had just begun renting it out, there were a few necessities that were missing and I had to request them. The property management team handled it same-day each time. With that said, I might have expected there to be a standard furnishing list that would include measuring spoons, toilet plungers and grill tools. This is why I am not giving the management team a 5. I would mention that the view, while beautiful, is obstructed by some power lines (not the poles, just the lines themselves). I didn't mind but my husband found it distracting. I am docking one star for location for this reason. I would dock only half a star if I could. At the time we stayed there, there was contradictory information in the ad vs the amenities list that made it appear that the unit may possible have AC. It does not. We were concerned when we first arrived. But it has beautiful vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans (sometimes several)in each room. There are sliding glass doors in every room that you can open for a breeze as well. There are high windows that can be opened also, and after we aired the place out I was quite comfortable 95% of the time. My husband is more sensitive to heat and he was comfortable maybe 85% of the time due to variations in the weather.
