My wonderful husband planned our trip to the Big Island and found the Orchid Inn online. He had been to the Big Island before and said it was his favorite Island. Staying here at the Orchid Inn has been and amazing experience. The grounds, I enjoyed exploring the grounds and picking the fruit from the trees. I love Lilikoi and wish it had been in season. I absolutely fell in love with this house, every part of the design and being able to keep it open. It is such a comfortable place to stay and would love to return. The Lanai is amazing and the funky mirror that opens to a screened window just made me appreciate whoever customized the Orchid Inn. I sincerely enjoyed every moment of our stay even during Kilauea's eruption, haze in the sky. Hawaii has now won a place in my heart. I hope to return soon

Beautiful paradise setting. We enjoyed our stay at The Orchid Inn. My 10 year old grandson was so impressed, he asked if we could leave a thank you note for the owner.

The house and setting are all we hoped it would be! We loved walking down into the village for coffee, driving to Kona for dinner, volcano National Park, Waipio Valley, Kua Bay, kayaking and snorkeling! All the fruit trees and flowers give this place the feeling of paradise. How I wish we had this view and could leave the windows open all day at home. Thank to all our hosts and guides here in Hawaii.

The house to commence our Holiday dream. Beautifully presented and offering every conceivable thing required to a point where it was very hard to leave..It was a real pleasure to arrive at the house. Even to find flowers in a vase. I am a florist by trade,so to walk around the garden an see all the wonderful fruit and flowers was a real joy. We even found a Bat flower in bloom, which we picked and had in a vase the whole time we were here. The view from the house is lovely, as we watched watched the cruise boats come in and out. Thank you for a lovely Holiday

Orchid House is exactly as the photos show. If you are looking for a semi secluded location this could fit your wish. If you want close beach access keep looking. If you want to see anything you will definitely need a vehicle. The house is located about 1500 ft elevation and makes a big difference between shorts and tee shirt in the morning or pants and a light jacket. Couple of nights it cooled off pretty good and the ladies could of just about used a heater.The chickens and roosters are as stated and if you sleep lightly you better have earplugs. Overall great house if it could only be closer to the beach and away from the roosters.
