If you want a wonder place to stay with your family this is it. It is just south of Kona but close enough to shopping, coffee farms, farmers markets, and restraunts that you really don't have to go far. The view is majestic and we ate on the balcony every night watching the incredible sunset.

I live here in Kona, and I have a friend in Los Angeles that has never been to the Big Island so I flew her out here. We are both seniors and don't like to walk long distances . We were very happy to see that we could park just a few steps away from our own elevator ! I took my friend all over the Island , and what a wonderful place to come back to. Without the crowded hotel scene we were able to find the solitude and surprisingly quiet that enabled us to enjoy each other's company ! What a great view !

The property was spacious, sparkling clean, nicely decorated with a tropical theme, very well equipped, and it had a great, very large lanai with tremendous sunset views! The Kona Coast Vacations staff was pleasant, friendly, helpful and responsive. We loved our stay there. The very best thing for us was its location, right across the street from a wonderful snorkeling area, where we felt like we were swimming in an aquarium! On the down side, the fact that the bedroom walls are open at the top makes sharing the property a little iffy. We were alone there for our first 10 days, and it was great. Our adult daughter arrived, with a cough, for our last 4 nights, and when she was coughing all night, the way that the sound bounced up off her roof back down into our room made it sound like she was IN our room coughing! I had to sleep with a pillow over my head! It seems like it wouldn’t be that difficult to finish the walls in the master bedroom so that they reach the ceiling. Now that there are air conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room, it doesn’t seem necessary to have the walls open at the top for air circulation, and the AC would actually work better with the bedroom enclosed. Aside from that, the place was quiet and restful (we had no noise from the neighbors, as others have reported.) In November, the air conditioning was adequate, sometimes needing some help from the ceiling fans during the day. The AC consists of three window-type units, installed in the walls, one in the living room and one in each of the two bedrooms. Minor suggestions would include installing a full length mirror somewhere (I used the refrigerator door as a mirror!), providing a step stool to reach the high kitchen shelves, and putting knobs or handles on the kitchen cabinets and drawers, or at least some push-to-release hardware to make it easier to open them. The kitchen is a beautiful, well-equipped, high-end kitchen with granite countertops, but the kitchen faucet could use an upgrade. And a pull down sun-blocking shade in the elevator might help reduce the way it heats up in the afternoon, while still letting you enjoy the view while you are actually in the elevator. All minor issues. The place is wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful stay. Enjoyed the property; no complaints. Great snorkel/dolphin tour recommend by David-one of the highlights of our trip.

Very nice, clean, airy condo, especially with the spacious lanai. Good location and great views. Ample dishes, glasses, tableware, pots, pans; good appliances, good mattresses. Sometimes occupants of the other properties nearby are a bit noisy, but never late at night. Road noise from Alii Drive is very minimal. We certainly will consider renting again. Kona Coast Vacations is very service oriented. Bedroom walls are not finished fully up to the ceiling. Great for airflow, but it does not provide privacy. It did not bother us much.

This was a great location. Just across the street from one of the only beaches for snorkeling and surfing. The only negative was the early morning noisy neighbors to the east. They got up early and sat outside and talked nonstop which made it difficult to sleep in past 6:30. The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler made trips to the beaches very enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed Two Step beach near the painted church. The steps are to the far right as you look toward the ocean. We were snorkeling with Spinner Dolphins. If you like sushi, don’t pass up the opportunity to try Shimaichi Sushi in Kailua-Kona. Here are a few things that could be addressed to make the property even better: 1) Check the handle on the toilet in the master bathroom. It appears to have been installed toward the seat which, when raised, prevents the toilet from flushing properly. 2) More insulation needs to be added to the roof to reduce the heat buildup inside the unit. Maybe this could occur the next time the roof is replaced. 3) The elevator was stiflingly hot in the afternoon. The fan needs to be checked and solar film needs to be applied to the windows to reduce the heat gain.
